Marble delivers logistics drone prototype for British military
Marble successfully completed its contract with the UK DSTL (Defence Science and Technology Laboratory – referred to by some as the “British DARPA”) this month, turning a paper concept intro a flying end-to-end system in just 6 months.
For this Marble demonstrated the efficiency and low-cost of having multiple small fixed-wing vertical take-off and landing drones and robotic hangars, operating in a fully automated system. We then carried out further design work to adapt our technology currently in development for maritime surveillance applications, incorporating additional innovations such as foldable wings to further reduce hangar size.
The end-product is a fully modular system, from swappable batteries and payload bays, to replaceable wings, propulsion pods, or communications modules. This ensures long term upgradability, and maintainability in the field.
